MDi Pakistan hosts Table Tennis Competition for St. Joseph’s Hospice - January 02, 2010

Students and staff of MDi Pakistan hosted a table tennis competition on January 02, 2010 to raise funds for St. Joseph’s Hospice – a charitable organization located in Westridge, Rawalpindi. The hospice takes care of many less-fortunate and disabled individuals regardless of faith and / or culture. The MDi team collected donations in the form of money as well as newspapers and clothes for the hospice.

The event was chaired by directors from the hospice, Ms. Sara Mahmood and Ms. Kateryna Shah. MDi Pakistan is delighted by the fact that Ms. Katryna Shah, who graduated with the USQ BBA from MDi, now serves as the youngest director at the hospice. It was a pleasure to have Sara and Katryna amongst our students and staff.

The competition was won by Omer Jilani (USQ BBA Year 2 student). Omer was presented with the MDi Table Tennis Competition trophy by Ms. Sara Mahmood. He was complimented on his outstanding effort by members of the hospice, MDi staff and students.

The MDi Table Tennis competition is only the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship that the institution would like to establish with St. Joseph’s Hospice, and other such charitable organizations. Our intention is to deliver value to our students, and also to our society by way of activities organized by students for the less privileged. The MDi faculty and staff would especially like to thank our students who made this event a success, and also their friends and relatives who had attended and made the event even more special.

The second MDi Table Tennis competition is scheduled for S1 2010 (March – June). Details will be available on our website soon, and it is hoped that the event will be made available to students from other academic institutions as well.
